• DRYOsphere: DRYOsphere fabrics provide a waterproof/breathable barrier from the elements. A shield against water and wind, DRYOsphere fabric also allows for water vapor to escape from the body, keeping you dry and comfortable in any condition.


• DUROloft Insulation: DUROloft uses hydrophobic synthetic fibers arranged to mimic the structure of down. It traps warmth in air pockets, providing great thermal insulation / DUROloft Eco has the same properties than DUROloft but is made of recycled and recyclable fibers / DUROloft Bio is a mix of wool and Polylactic acid fibers, a bioplastic derived from renewable resources. It combines the great thermoregulation and antibacterial proprieties of wool with the lightness and quick dry properties of synthetic fiber.


• C0 DWR or PFC-free: Perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds, also known as PFCs, are a group of fluorinated substances that have long been used as durable water repellence for clothing in the outdoor industry. They are very bad for the environment because they are very stable, and do not easily break down in nature. Therefore, PFC free/ C0 DWR treatments have been developed. They are less durable but more sustainable.


• Re-source product: SCOTT committed to preserving the environment for future generations. One of the following aspects must be fulfilled, that a product gets the Re-Source label by SCOTT: Either use a minimum of 50% recycled materials, or are made with 100% #A05 renewable materials or only PWC-free DWR (durable water repellence) treatments are used.

PFC-frei Produkte, die das Label „PFC Free“ oder „PFC-frei“ tragen, garantieren, dass sie keine per- und polyfluorierten Chemikalien (PFC) enthalten. Diese PFCs sind dafür bekannt, wasser-, schmutz- und ölabweisende Eigenschaften zu besitzen, weshalb sie häufig in Outdoor- und Funktionsbekleidung als chemische Beschichtungen verwendet werden.

Es ist wichtig zu beachten, dass PFCs sich äußerst langsam abbauen und daher über einen sehr langen Zeitraum in der Umwelt verbleiben können. Darüber hinaus stellen diese Chemikalien ein potenzielles Gesundheitsrisiko für den Menschen dar. Laut Greenpeace sind PFCs selbst in entlegenen Bergseen oder im Blut von Eisbären in der Arktis nachweisbar, weit entfernt von ihrer ursprünglichen Quelle.

Einige Hersteller wie Vaude, Jack Wolfskin oder Picture verzichten bewusst auf PFCs in ihren Produkten, um diese Umweltauswirkungen zu minimieren.

Recycelte Materialen Bei der Herstellung von Outdoorprodukten werden wiederverwendbare Materialien genutzt, was zur Schonung von Ressourcen beitragen soll. Viele Hersteller kennzeichnen ihre Produkte zudem mit entsprechenden Labels und Bezeichnungen.
